"In The 757"
8/08-5/11
I started "In The 757" when I came to school. I moved over 600 miles away and I had never been away from family, friends, or loved ones for more than two and a half weeks. I was without a phone, had no friends, and no car. I felt lost and alone. The internet became my only means of forging a connection with those I'd left behind. I wanted it to be a way for them to see and experience my life. I was terrified to be so far away. Writing has always been an outlet for me. A way to express myself without an immediate audience, so it made sense for me to start a blog.
As a senior I had less fears and anxieties than I had as a knee-knocking 18 year old. However, the purpose of the blog essentially remained the same: it was simply a place for me to chronicle my adventures, the lessons I learn, and a thought or two of brilliant insight once a year (perhaps, you can be the judge of that). I have now closed Inthe757, as I have moved on from this place, although the posts remain in archive.
